Fertile Foundations is a non-profit, tax exempt Christian organization whose purpose is to be about our Father’s business, producing fruit in the Kingdom of God, as we build on the foundations in God’s Word.
Fertile Foundations’ three main areas of focus are Neighborhood Outreach, Special Needs Community Involvement, and Mexico Ministry.
PRINCIPLES OF MINISTRY
To be established and growing in our relationship with God John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
To be committed to the work of the Lord 1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
To value people 1 Corinthians 9:22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
To do good Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
To encourage, comfort, and help others Philippians 2:1-2 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.
To be salt and light Matthew 5:13-16 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
To live in harmony with others I Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.
To teach God’s Word II Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
In spite of the heat, we had a wonderful trip! God was with us and guided and protected us all the way. We often wonder what we're doing, as we head off on these Mexico trips; then we arrive and it is clear why we are there.
